Dr. Quan Ma
Dr. Quan Ma grew up in Pennsylvania, where he earned his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College before going on to receive his DMD from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2007.
After dental school, Dr. Ma began his career in the Washington, D.C., area and quickly developed a passion for continuing education. Over the years, he has completed hundreds of hours of additional classes and clinical training in all areas of dentistry, including comprehensive courses through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the University of Oregon. In 2014, Dr. Ma decided it was time to make the move to the Best Coast and has been proud to call San Diego home ever since.
Professional Memberships
Dr. Ma is a member of the San Diego Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of Sports Dentistry, and Academy of General Dentistry. He believes that staying involved in the dental community and continuing to learn are important parts of providing the best possible care to his patients.
Giving Back
Giving back to the community has always been important to Dr. Ma. He has participated in dental mission trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, providing care to communities in need. He looks forward to continuing these trips and finding new ways to help others.
Closer to home, Dr. Ma enjoys volunteering with the Rotary Club’s 1000 Smiles clinic in Ensenada, where he gets to combine his passion for dentistry with his love of helping people.
Dr. Ma also serves as a Voluntary Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of California San Diego. In this role, he works with the Pre-Dental Society’s student-run free dental clinic, helping future dental professionals gain valuable hands-on experience while providing care to the community.
Life Outside the Office
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Ma loves taking advantage of everything San Diego has to offer. Whether he’s exploring the outdoors, checking out a new restaurant, or spending time with his wife, Ana, and their dog, Rocky, there’s always something to do.
And if the weather is right, you can almost guarantee Dr. Ma will find a way to get out for a surf session on the weekend. He’s also a big sports fan, so you may spot him cheering on the Padres or at Snapdragon Stadium, where he provides dental injury coverage for the San Diego FC.
