Restorative Dental Procedures
When damage is found with your teeth, due to decay, infection or trauma, we can help. Restoration is just that, restoring your teeth to appear as natural as possible. We can help restore normal function to your teeth.
The most common restorative treatments performed are dental fillings. Fillings are used to repair cavities in your tooth affected by decay. At Park West Dental Group, we use composite (tooth-colored) materials to "fill in" the surface of the tooth after all decay has been removed. Our dentists will discuss with you which material option is best for you based on its location in your mouth. In some cases and if the patient prefers we can use gold restorative matierial for these fillings as well. It may not be the most esthetic material but is very bio compatible and will last a long time.
Root Canal Therapy, also called endodontic therapy, is a procedure to save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. The procedure we perform is to remove the nerve and pulp and then clean the inside of the tooth and seal it. Commonly a Crown or Cap will need to be placed following this procedure because the tooth is now weakened.
Dental Bridges are non-removable devices that replace missing teeth. This gives you the appearance and function of your natural teeth using a resin-bonded product.
We use dental Crowns to restore cracked, damaged, and decayed teeth that are weakened. This crown, or cap, covers the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size, allowing for normal function.
Sometimes our patients require full dentures. Dentures are a removable prosthesis made of tooth colored plastic, molded in the shape of teeth, and set in a pink gum-colored plastic base that rests on the remaining gum ridge once all of the teeth in the arch have been removed. |
